Sky News are reporting that Yodel are struggling with the volume of parcels this Christmas 2024. The article suggests that Yodel have reached capacity this week due to problems with recruitment and are contacting key clients, including eBay, to request they divert deliveries to alternative carriers including their main business rival Evri.
Most Evri couriers are currently working 27 consecutive days from 25th Nov through 21st December to ensure 3 million deliveries per day flow smoothly through the network. After speaking with couriers across the country, who are dealing with later start times and longer working days due to the higher volume of deliveries seen every Christmas, we predict Evri are in a good position to cope with the current peak period in 2024 and even have the capacity to deal with some of the volume from Yodel’s clients after this latest announcement.
