A reporter working for the Daily Mail who spent a few days working undercover as an Evri courier during the Christmas 2024 peak delivery period has a “new found respect” for how hard Evri couriers need to work due to the unrealistically high delivery targets set by Evri to counter the low parcel rates that the company pay their ‘final mile’ couriers.
Encountering some of the issues couriers face every day, such as attempting to deliver when householders aren’t home and the subsequent time spent looking for alternative delivery locations, made him realise how difficult it is for couriers to earn the advertised hourly rate when they don’t hit the set delivery targets per hour.
