The latest Pay Ballot for Evri SE+ couriers who are members of the GMB closed on 25th November 2025 and the results were announced today.
There were 4950 member votes counted which accounts for around 25% of the total number of self employed couriers who provide service for Evri. Of the 4950 votes cast just over 83% voted YES with just over 15% voting NO so the new pay award for SE+ couriers who are GMB members will go ahead.
So what will these couriers get in this new deal?
The inital offer is shown below and was released on 9th Oct 2024 but many details were left out which only came to light AFTER the ballot opened on 11th Oct 2024.
Additional details negotiated by the GMB which were ommited on the ballot were later announced on the GMB - Evri noticeboard on 22 Oct 2024 a full 11 days after the ballot opened. The amended details were:
- PRG – protected until the 2025 pay negotiations.
- A lump sum gratuity payment of up to £950 dependent on the number of days you offer a service to Evri.
- HSP payments increased to:
- SOS uplift payment increased from £1.50 per day to £1.75 with a target increase from 95% to 98.5%.
- ETA uplift payment increased from £1.50 per day to £1.75 with a target increase from 95% to 96%.
- Collections uplift removed and replaced with a collections payment of £1.90 - 98% target.
- Star Bonus (£1.50 per day) removed from targets for GMB members only.
- Sickness Benefit – free for all GMB members.
- Marsh Top up insurance being negotiated.
- VAT scheme – subsidised for GMB members.
- Return to Depot payments - £6.00 for all GMB members.
Some points to note.
The RTD payment was already £6.00 for GMB members so no change there.
The VAT scheme is a government scheme that couriers can already sign up to themselves, for free, but the ‘offer’ is for Evri to provide a scheme that will do this for couriers in return for a hefty administration charge.
Evri are driving more customer returns to parcel shops instead of via courier collections so couriers will not qualify for any collection uplift when there are no collections for that day.
Evri have also changed the criteria to acheive the SOS bonus meaning many couriers will fail the new target and will lose the whole months bonus despite passing most of the daily targets.
But then there was more. After all these omissions on the GMB ballot couriers later learned that they would also be losing POD/HSIG uplift payments 12 days after a YES result. Yet another cut in pay.
This led to some members requesting that the ballot be voided and a new ballot be drawn up due to fears that some members had already voted without the full details being made available but these requests were rejected by the GMB and the ballot went ahead.
The breakdown of the ballot results by region are shown below.
